Doug Willits is a Broker Associate with Seven Gables Real Estate who specializes in the City of Orange and adjoining cities. Doug is proud to be in the elite 4% of all Realtors nationwide who hold the Graduate Realtor Institute (GRI) designation. In addition, Doug is an Accredited Buyer’s Representative (ABR), Senior Real Estate Specialist (SRES), and Master Certified Negotiation Expert (MCNE). As a prior Certified Real Estate Appraiser, Doug is highly qualified in determining property values, which is critical for both buyers and sellers. With an extensive education, Doug understands the complexities of buying and selling various types of residential, commercial and investment properties.
Doug is a Michigan native and relocated to Orange after serving in the USAF. He earned his BA in Communications at Chapman University and an MA in Communications from CSU Long Beach. Doug sailed around the world as a staff member on Semester at Sea before entering the electronics industry. There he co-founded several businesses that supported the printed circuit board industry for over 25 years
Active at Chapman University, Doug was awarded Governor Emeritus in 2016 and was the recipient of the Alumnus of the Year Award in 2010. In the community, he has served on the Board of Directors of the Orange Public Library Foundation, St. Joseph Hospital Foundation and Community Foundation of Orange. He is a graduate of Leadership Orange, Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), as well as a graduate of the Orange Police Department’s Citizens Academy. In 2015, he was appointed to the Orange City Planning Commission where he currently serves and in 2017 The Orange Chamber of Commerce named Doug the Citizen of the Year. Other memberships include Orange Elks #1475 and American Legion #132.
Doug and his wife Susie have two children (Kelsey Willits Raymond and Ben Willits), and six grandchildren (Kaden, Finley, Emerson, Gracyn, Maisy & Quinn). They reside in Old Towne Orange.
